Engineering Construction opportunities

ALARAN
Alaran Development Enterprises [Alaran] is a development services organisation that aims to build manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure across Africa. Atunlushe is our engineering construction business, based in Ogun, Nigeria with divisions in Utilities, Construction, Logistics, and Services. Atunlushe is tendering in 2005 to develop on build-own-operate basis in western Nigeria: a multi-activity centre, a heritage resort, and a science park with extensive facilities for location of knowledge based businesses. These developments are complemented with dedicated utilities, logistic services, and residential housing.

Atunlushe seeks suppliers to provide commodities and services under agreement. Suppliers must have full-time management who have gained relevant qualifications and proven work experience in engineering, computing and construction projects. Suppliers are encouraged to undertake continous professional training in engineering, scientific, construction and project management disciplines, and to provide opportunities for placement of young people into apprenticeships. In return, suppliers enjoy preferential trade access as well as capital funding, profit-share, and risk management.

Build capacity for a new generation of African manufacturers

The African manufacturing sector is currently dominated by enterprises that are oriented towards external investors and markets. The orientation is both direct and indirect. Official trade policy promotes intervention of foreign direct investment as “juju” for curing perceived disfunctions in local savings and investment levels. Societal consumption patterns sustain indirect dependency on foreign manufacturers through export of raw materials and import of finished goods.

Current generation of manufacturers are not environmentally sustainable in that they draw neither technological inspiration nor economic sustenance from the African markets. A progressive society is one in which cultural relevance underpins scientific research and technological innovation. African manufacturers are undistinguished in research or innovation in a world where the quintessence of market competitiveness is a societal culture of science and technology .

There are three breeds of these unsustainable manufacturers: the vast majority export mineral extracts or agricultural commodities to foreign markets. Global revenues for these commodity suppliers are on a long-term downward spiral as the primary markets become glutted or as primary processors resort increasingly to using innovative synthetic alternatives. The second breed assemble components imported from foreign manufacturers for distribution within African markets. Dramatic falls in purchasing power, high capital costs, and rapid devaluation of local currencies combine to dampen affordability of foreign exchange for importation of imported components. It is also becoming increasingly difficult to ensure reliable supply of the requisite process tools or machinery in an age of rapid technological obsolescence. The third breed are marginally sustainable as they concentrate on domestic processing of local commodities for consumption in African markets or for export. They survive on the margins because their products fulfil low-order nourishment and security needs such as food, fuel or housing.

The long-term survival of today's manufacturers is doubtful because African consumers are becoming more discerning and aspiratorial. They are very fed-up with making-do on inferior goods that have no quality guarantees, low cultural relevance, or high security risks. Examples of such products include stand-by generators, “tokunbo” automobiles, “GSM” telephones, and “pure water” sachets – all dominant products in various African markets despite the ready availability of superior alternatives.

To boost competitiveness in both the local and the global markets, African manufacturers will need to evolve a new generation of enterprises that are technically capable of fulfilling higher-order needs such as cultural relevance, self-actualisation, and wealth creation. The new generation of African manufacturers must be “glocal”: competitive in global economic markets yet sustainable by local cultural aspirations. The glocal duality is necessary. There is really no local economic market anywhere in the world: the aforementioned products continue to penetrate even the most remote African village. The most insidious driver of such globalisation is cultural packaging. Product promotion activities wrap aspiration (for the improved living conditions deemed attainable by using the products) with cultural affinity to the societies that manufacture and package the products. Product promotion activities permeate the education, work, entertainment and religious events in our daily lives. These busienss activities and cultural events indoctrinate Africans that the 'best', 'original', 'true', 'acceptable' products or services are only those imported from foreign manufacturers. In this manner, African products are rendered uncompetitive as trade dependency thrives on misplaced cultural aspirations. It is necessary not only to remove these foreign cultural baggage from the products we want, but also to manufacture and/or wrap such products with African cultures.

The new generation of African manufacturers can succeed only by helping to create a new societal culture. A culture that creates and reinforces higher-order expectations that:
• African socio-economic aspirations are progressive;
• African manufacturing is fabricated on research and technological innovation;
• African products are globally competitive on price and quality terms;
• African consumers can and should aspire to locally made products.

By undertaking product promotion activities which cultivate and communicate these expectations in homes, in schools, in the media, in religious gatherings, etc, African manufacturers and public institutions can create an enabling environmentt in which their businesses are globally competitive yet locally sustainable.

The burden of expectation is, of course, performance.
It is fairly obvious that the current generation of African manufacturers do not presently endure these expectations. The extent to which they can at least perform an evolution of the next generation is unclear. As earlier indicated, their orientation to foreign markets and investors may be incompatible with promotion of African culture as a competitive advantage. Today, only a few of these manufacturers operate research-based businesses. Even fewer, continuously incorporate technological or managerial innovations into their production processes, even when such improvements are imported as 'black-box' solutions from foreign markets. Fewer still, conduct product promotions that seek to globalise truly African cultural values. It is the rare African manufacturer who combines cultural relevance with technological improvements to yield products that are competitive in world markets.

Alaran Development Enterprises aims to work with the new breed of manufacturers and public institutions boost the global competitiveness and local sustainability of Made-in-Africa products. Alaran D.E conducts strategic advisory, research and operations management in agric-synthetic materials, distributed energy, and robotics industries.
We are pioneers, too.

Islam and Arab Slavery of Afrikans

Kosi igbagbe. Kosi aforiji. Lai.
Never forgive. Never forget. Ever.

-------------------------------------
When doing research on African slavery I came across this video and was surprised about the slave trade in the Middle East, especially around North Africa. This explains the current genocide that is going on in Darfur and the Sudan. I could see the link with the past that this has been going on for 14 centuries. This person wrote this book about slavery in Islamic states. John Alembillah Alembillah Azumah The book is called Legacy of Arab-Islam in Africa: A Quest for Inter-Religious Dialogue. This book reveals the dark secret of Islam and slavery of black people in Africa and the history of how Arab Muslims went to war on and captured black men, women and children and turned them into slaves. While slavery only lasted 3 centuries in the west, it has lasted 14 centuries in the Middle East and exists today in many Muslim countries. He explains the book in this short video and it is very interesting. It explains that when Arab slave traders would raid black villages to the south they would kill the adults and kidnap the children. The boy children were indoctrinated into an Islamic army for the Arabs and the girls were taken as household and sex slaves. The reason their were not that many black descendants in the middle east is because the black male children were castrated so they could not reproduce. There were a few black Africans who grew up and because they curried favor with their masters were allowed to also be slave traders. A very interesting history of black African slave trade and the Muslim Arab world. People need to know this history, BUT instead sadly people will never get enough of watching Souljah Boy dance dude, 50 cent, old Tupac Shakur Rap videos, Britany Spears and other videos and never know the truth, especially white and black converts or reverts. This is part of the legacy of slavery that most African American people should know. Many black converts or reverts do not know this history before they converted believing that they were originally Muslim before they were sold into slavery. They were not. People should research their history before they convert or revert.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

video Notes
Mohammendan Islam has succeeded in hiding its role in African slave trade, despite it was far more involved, with greater barbarity, for over 14 centuries in a manner that was most diabolical and inhumane.

The greatest tragedy of this story is that the descendants of the African slaves around the world, in the Americas as well as in Africa itself are TOTALLY IGNORANT about the facts.
The worst, most inhumane and most diabolical institution of the black African slave trade was initiated, refined, perpetuated and propagated by the Mohammedan Arabs and later by the Mohammedan converts to islam.. The two sub-cultures, of denial of facts and political correctness will deny this assertion without a single disprove of these statements

The word 'slave' is derived from the Slavic people of East Europe who were subjugated and enslaved by other Europeans. Abdullah' means 'the slave of Allah' In the language of the Arabs, all black people are called "abeed"== for slaves.

Very little is written about Arab slave trade across Sahara, Indian ocean.

The Koran allows the taking of slaves as tribute or reward, the taking of slaves in wars of aggression against non-believers ie most of the world. The so-called holy wars of jihad are and were mostly wars of plunder. Mohammedan states and tribes have attacked other peoples for this purpose.

Abd = black slave
Maluk = white slave

Ibn Khaldun(?, 1332 - 1406), the most prominent Muslim medieval historian wrote: "The Negro nations are as a rule submissive to slavery as they have attributes similar to dumb animals." Black slaves were castrated on grounds that the black had ungovernable sexual appetite. When the Fatimid Caliphate came to power in Egypt, they slaughtered all of the tens of thousands of black military slaves and raised an entire new slave army.

Records exist for 2 million slaves by Arabs in the 1800s. At least 8 million more are calculated to have died before reaching the Arab slave markets. (in the 19th century alone!).
* 10 percent trans-Atlantic mortality rate compared with 70-80 percent in trans-Sahara.
* 2women/3men in European slavery vs. 2women/1man in Arab slavery.
* While European slavery was mostly about labour for agricultural plantations and industry, most of the Mooslim slavery was about sexual exploitation in harems and for military purposes.
* Many children survived European slavery to populate the Americas today. Very few Children of middle east slaves survived because most of the children born into slavery were killed at birth.
* As many as 11 million African slaves were transported across Atlantic of which 95% to were to South American possessions of the Portuguese, Spanish or French and 5% to north America. But an estimate of 28 million went to middle east. Considering that estimate 80% plus died before reaching Arab slave markets, it is possible that altogether more than 112 million could have died in Arab slavery.
* Added to those sold in the trans-Sahara and east Africa slave trade, the numbers of African slaves by Arabs could exceed 140 million. The slavery continues today, aided by two major factors:
1) The culture of Denial by Mohammedan Islam and Arabs about their part in slavery
2) The ignorance by black Africans about their historical and present conditions.

Tani O Nse Omo Yoruba
Ethnic Mutability and Yoruba Identity

Idi oro 'Yoruba'
Bi emi she mo to, oro 'Yoruba' wa lati siso "Yo ru bo" itunmo ni wi pe eni ti o ma ru ebo'.

Origin of the word 'Yoruba'
As far I can research it, the word "Yoruba" was derived from the phrase "Yo ru bo" meaning 'will make sacrifices'. It may have been the commonality of Ifa/Orisha spiritual belief that caused the diverse inhabitants of the mid-west African continent to share the same core language and ethnic nationality (as yet manifest in a controlling country). The Hausa people call this word 'Yariba' which implies that their discomfort with form or content of the sacrificial rituals they had been forced to forgo under the influence of Islam.

Tani Yoruba?
Eni ti abi si oko ofurufu kii ndi aralu ile eni ti oni oko na!
Nkan meji ni o nso eni di Yoruba. Ikini ni esin 'Orisha'. Ikeji ni amulewa lati idile Orisha. Eni Yoruba ni eni ti mu idile ni esin Yoruba, ko le jabo nitori ibi ti a bi si abi esin ti ebi re bo si.

Who is Yoruba?
One who is born on an aeroplane is not a citizen of the airline's nationality!
A Yoruba person is so because of a confluence of spiritual heritage in Ifa/Orisha belief and parental-genetic heritage from a believer. One is born as Yoruba who is descendant from a Yoruba, irrespective of the place of birth or the religion of either parent.

Eniyan le wa ni idile Yoruba. Kakabe, o le farasi idile imi bi Nigeria, Togo abi Jamaica, bbl [be be lo]. Be e ni, o le wani esin Yoruba. Kakabe, o le forisi esin imi bi Hinduism, Rastafarian abi Judaism, bbl. Pelu pe eniyan farasi abi forisi ibomi, awon ati awon omo-omo won a shi je Yoruba ni idile ati idiesin, won a shi le she aralu Yoruba (nigbati ilu ba de)

In time, the person may remain within Yoruba nationality. Alternatively, the parson may register and become a citizen of another nationality such as Nigeria, Togo, or Jamaica etc. Similarly, they may remain Yoruba in spirituality or may convert to another faith such as Hindu, Rastafarian or Judaism etc. Even if they convert their nationality or faith, they and any of their descendants will be Yoruba in spiritual and genetic heritage, and so entitled to Yoruba nationality (if and when manifest).

Iparo idi-omo

Ethnic mutability
To be Yoruba is to 'Yo Ru Bo'. It is an acknowledgement of spiritual potential to be part of Olodumare (or God in pagan belief). A faith and assertion that by their deeds the person - any person - can become "ori sha", meaning 'of chosen spirit'. It is a faith that calls for spiritual vigilance and mortal defence. In the old days, only people of active Yoruba spirituality were deemed Yoruba. In current times, persons of Yoruba genetic heritage are called Yoruba even when they are converts to foreign religions or nationality. The active spiritual adherents are termed aborisha or Yorubo or irunmole etc to designate them separate from non-practising Yoruba. The Yoruba nation (when manifest) will likely extend preferential citizenship to persons of Yoruba spirituality.

Maafa
Won shi le di Yoruba ti won ba she 'Yo Ru Bo'. Ayekan Yoruba (nigbati o de) ma pedandan eni omo Maafa ti onshe esin Yoruba.

The Maafa.
Of importance are the Maafa (African slave trade) descendants, Most are now several generations removed from direct parentage in Africa. Many now have genetic exchange with other ethnic nationalities. Many have been through several generations of indoctrination in other faiths. They can be Yoruba if they are 'Yo Ru Bo'. The Yoruba nation (when manifest) will extend automatic citizenship to Maafa descendants who are of Yoruba spirituality

Ni ojoisiyin, she Yoruba je ki kosheishe ki eni nse esin imi?
Question: today, does being Yoruba mean it is impossible to be Christian/Muslim/agnostic/atheist?

Ijuwon yi she yewo ni ona meta
The contention may arise from distinctions in 3 dimensions:

1) between Yoruba Orisha spirituality vs another religion/non-religion.
Spirituality is primary in determining Yoruba heritage and it is inviolable. However, one can choose whether to be active as Yoruba Orisha or not. To not be "Yo Ru Bo" is to be of suspended spiritual state in which one is not consciously trying to evolve towards Olodumare. Yoruba who are christians/muslims/atheists/agnostics abbl are by definition not "Yo Ru Bo".

2) between Yoruba genetic heritage (ethnicity) vs Arabic/European ethnicity.
a) Any non-genetic Yoruba person including an Ibo, Efik, Chinese, German or Sunni Arab, abbl, may convert to Yoruba Orisha spirituality. If they initiate their children also into Orisha spirituality, then the descendants of the child have established Yoruba spiritual heritage. Even if a Yoruba marries someone of another ethnicity or baptises their child into whatever foreign religion, they, their child, and its children remain Yoruba in spirit.
b) Genetic heritage is one vehicle for transmitting the Yoruba spiritual heritage. It is considered that any person born of a Yoruba is born into Yoruba Orisha by default, even if the parents are many generation practising Christians or Confucians, abbl. The Yoruba child is born to actualise as Orisha.

Of course, it is possible to be of multiple ethnicity. In fact, this seems to be the new path to socio-economic globalisation of European culture and to world peace. Even the NVS board actively encourages it with its Afro introductions banner adverts.

3) between Yoruba/Scottish/African-American (not manifest) vs Egypt/Nigeria/France/UK/ nationality/citizenship.
Nationality or citizenship are matters subject to geo-politics. It is for the countries concerned whether there is "either" or "or" in what nationality / citizenship a person may be subject to.

Igbimo Ayekan Afrika

Idahun

Mo nse alagbawi igbimo Yoruba losi | I am advocating an agenda of efforts towards:
1) Isepilese Ayekan Yoruba si ilu ti o ndaduro. | Actualising the Yoruba country as a self-determining jurisdiction (country) and
2) Isepilese Ayekan Africa (parapo awon ilu Africa) | Actualising Ayekan Afrika (the commonwealth of African nationalities) and
3) Kojusi ikaiye ede Yoruba ati esin Ifa/Orisha, pelu abule eto ni Ijebu, ki eyi je ona isepilese 1 ati 2 | Focussing on inter-tribal-ising (internationalising or globalising) the Yoruba language and the Ifa/Orisha spiritual heritage, with administrative centre at Ijebu, as a means of attaining 1 and 2.
4) Nitori awon Yoruba ni ibalopo ni ede ati esin pelu awon eniyan niita ayika ilu-kolo. | Because the Yoruba have connections through language and active spiritual heritage with people beyond the borders of the colonial country.
The Yoruba diaspora includes a worldwide Afrikan diaspora whose spiritual heritage is rooted in Ifa/Orisha and we have a duty to protect that heritage and provide a home for its adherents. Unlike many other ethnic nationalities in Africa, Yoruba [populations or landmass (thanks SOD), language and spirituality] extends beyond any one colonial country. Yoruba is a global 'tribe' without a 'controlling' country,

I also suggest that achieving the Ayekan Afrika is a greater good than fragmentation of Yoruba Nigeria into ever smaller states within the existing country. As part of Nigeria, no Yoruba state can issue passports or visas, or implement a policy of muscular intervention in the Sudan, or support the dispossessed of hurricane Katrina, or call the UK or USA to order for disproportionate imprisonment of people of African heritage. We should be wary of crippled political 'independences' that cannot deliver socio-economic wealth.

The creation of 'Ijebu State' is to be considered in view of the above. Whether it is created or not, its people and the other current Yoruba states should also be aware of their greater connections and responsibilities towards Afrikans beyond the current Nigeria.

Tako Pete Lati Parun Omodekunrin Afrika

Tako Pete Lati Parun Omodekunrin Afrika / Countering the Conspiracy to Destroy Afrikan Boys
Eto pataki lati Juwanza Kunjufu ni eko omode Afrika A great lecture on teaching and/or raising (so called) black children.
Books by Kunjufu

Apa 1 / part 1
Kosheishe lati she eto omode ti eni ko feran, ti ko gbega, ti koye eni nipa iwapele, omode na.
You cannot teach a child if you do not love, do not respect, or do not understand the culture of, the child.
Five reasons for differences in test scores
1. Peer group
2. Parental support
3. Student self esteem
4. Culture bias in form of Curriculum/methodology,evaluation design
5. Teacher expectations and bias

Peer:
Schools are more than educational. They are also social. Peer pressure works against because when black students are trying to do well in school, they are said to act 'white'.
Jackie Robinson syndrome of the token 'black; in any 'gifted and talented' set creates a lot of pressure on the single Afrikan child in the programme to be the authority on all 'black' issues.
Afrikan children have been made afraid of competing in academic activity and tending towards athletic competition. This is more so in integrated schools. Do more to promote academic competitions because competition sharpens the skills. Give big trophies to academic winners, not just small certificates. Train academic peer groups with martial arts, so they can get respect for their knowledge and fighting skills.
Peer groups work because they look like each other. Have a central role model programme and bring in Afrikan academic achievers into schools weekly or monthly. Gangs/Music/TV/video games used to infiltrate the peer group. Whose values are leaders of peer groups going to follow? Peer groups determine what kinds of clothes, music, etc.

eworan 1

part 2
Parental Involvement and Support
Involvement is attending PTA meetings, selling raffle tickets. Support is going with your child to academic competitions, to the library, monitoring their peer group, TV viewing, etc. Use the oral tradition to get support. How to market the programme? Call the parents on the phone! 1000 flyers may generate 10 parents, but a personal invitation will generate 100 or more. Give the parents a workshop e.g. on their own development, on parent-child relationships, getting jobs, supporting child achievement, etc. Let the parents decide what the child workshops will be. Then give the child workshop. Emphasise interesting topics and charismatic teachers in order to leverage the oral tradition.

eworan 2

part 3
what works? providing food, childcare, transport in poor neighbourhoods at night, having children perform. Afrikan parents have always trusted the teacher, but in the old days, the teacher was Afrikan. Now it may not. Worse, it may be a teacher black in skin, but white in consciousness.
High achieving homes
1. Parent give child hope and believe in a better tomorrow
2. Parent is consistent with the child
3. Parents compliment the child
4. Parent gives high expectations to the child
5. Parent belives they are the primary educator of the child

2 Stage Programme
stage 1: Establish goals for your child: e.g a) Spirituality b) Afrikan empowerment c)Employer and wealth creator
stage 2: Have a home programme/game plan/strategy for attainment of each goal for each child. The teacher can only give hope and control the process. Only the child can attain.
spirituality: when are the birthdays of the Afrikan heroes? imporatant festivals, cultures, foods?
empowerment: do they understand the processes and types of empowerment and disempolwerment? can they solve word problems with applied mathematics and critical thinking.
wealth: do they understand business methods and applications.

aworan 3

part 3
Help your child establish identity.
Alex Haley asked his relatives "Who am I" and got six different answers: negro, black, African-American, African, American, coloured. You cannot help a child if he does not know who he is.. Chinese have China. Germans have Germany. There is no land for negros, blacks, African-Americans or coloureds. Only Africa and America are lands and so can be identified with.

eworan 3

part 4
Book: Great Negroes Past and Present.
Kunjufu asks "What happened to a people who built pyramids and how live in projects? Who were the first to read and write in hieroglyphics yet can now not read or write" If you start the history of Africans in America in year 1619, they were then in plantations and will end their history in ghettos / prisons. But if you start the African history 4000 or 4 million years ago, they start with the pyramids and end up free (and first in the world).

Content matters. It is not enough to mention names, events and dates. You must connect the past with the present and future. What mistakes were made so they can be corrected.
Difference between who you are: African, Mexican, Irish/European and where you are from: the country of passport.

Self Belief: comes from 1) spirituality, 2) parents, 3) teachers, 4) Ethnicity/Race, 5) Personal talents. Racial identity comes from feeling good about your physical attributes: skin colour, hair, facial features etc. The older children are in USA, the more they have negative body image and self-esteem. This is because we allow others to determine what standards of beauty are. ==link to google video: A Girl Like Me==. Racism is a sign of insecurity. Many African women cannot swim because they are afraid their hair will go 'bad'. The real damage to self-esteem is now being done within the black community: I dont want my child to have 'nappy' hair. Children who have never seen their fathers or mothers with natural hair (father shaves clean, mother fries /attaches long)

Book: Peculiar Institution: Slavery in the Ante-Bellum South. by Kenneth Stampp

eworan 4

part 5
A truly multicultural Curriculum will put an event at the centre, and then enable perspectives from the different ethnicities/races. Africans will say slavery nearly destroyed African families and nationhood. Europeans will say slavery was good for USA.
Some researchers say people with colour think better with right side of the brain associated with music and creativity while people who lack colour think better with left side of the brain associated with analytics, maths. Who then does the teaching style of rote learning affect child education?
There are five ways of communicating ideas in the classroom: 1) written (left brain) and right-brain communication styles of 2) oral, 3) pictures, 4) fine arts and 5) artefacts. Most schools use an exclusively written format for teaching, particularly in left-brain subjects such as math, sciences and engineering.

Teacher Expectations matter more for student achievement (TESA) than any other school-related factor. Teacher expectations of student achievement affected by 5 factors:
1) Race/Ethnicity of child 2) Income of child 3) Gender of child 4) Appearance of child 5) Parental support

TESA measures 1) number of response opportunities given to each child 2) feedback may be used as self-fulfilling prophecy as high-achieving students given multiple opportunities to get the correct answer 3) personal regard and reponsibility: let the child learn rather than spoon-feed it. You either love a child or you don't. What happens if the teacher does not associate with the child?

eworan 5

part 6
What makes effective schools? 1) strong leadership in the principals should be a coach. 2) teacher expectation. In low achieving schools, the lowest point is usually the teacher tea room "You cannot help these children!". 3) time on tasks. Teachers need time to finish tasks. What happens if educational time is taken by excessive testing?
There are 3 different types of adults in the classrooms
1)instructors deal only with subject matter. They deliver it and the students are supposed to take it. High teacher drop-out rates mean that instructors dominate in higher levels of education system.
2) teachers deal with subject matter and learning styles. they mix left and right brain.
3) coaches deal with subject matter, learning styles as well as motivation and self-esteem.

Stop telling young people to get a good education without telling them for what, or telling them to work hard without educating them to work on creating jobs. Do not tell them to get a good job so they can earn money. They know they can earn money in drugs, crime, sport, or entertainment without apparently getting a good education or working hard. Emphasise the development of talents and creating work from harnessing talents.

THERE IS A PAUSE IN THE VIDEO.

4 questions: 1) When did it start? 2) Who is behind the conspiracy? 3) Why is there a conspiracy? 4) What is the conspiracy?

The conspiracy is to destroy black boys, not black men or women. 1.03 boys born for every girl. But 18 years later, there are 1.0 available men for every 1.8 women. The rest are in prison, dead, homosexual (1 in 9 men), institutionalised in hospitals or mental institutions, or in inter-racial marriages.

eworan 6

part 7
What happens in the 4th grade. Black boys may be the best students nationally up to end of 3rd USA grade, but drop to bottom of racial achievement by end of 7th USA grade!!
The three ages of learning: a) 0 - 9 years b) 9 - 13 years c) 13 - 18 years
USA under Reagan spent per capita USD2,300 on age 0-9 education, but USD36,000 on imprisonment.
One key reason for 4th grade fall is lack of father participation. IT TAKES A MAN TO RAISE A MAN. Other contributing factors is downward involvement of parents even as peer pressure increases. 60% of female single-parent homes, no positive father-figures on TV/multimedia, no progressive programmes in church with its female-oriented-white-Jesus misinformation, schools with 85 - 95% early stage female teacher populations. so child looks to peer group for identity.

1 million 'black' men want Michael Jordan's job -> 400,000 will get into junior basketball -> 4,000 into college basketball -> 35 into the NBA -> 7 start a game. The average NBA career is 4 years. A 7-in-a-million chance for a 4 year career! But the conspiracy goes beyond NBA, even schools give more glory to sports teams than academic schools. The why for conspiracy is to stop competition against Yurugu male supremacy.

eworan 7

part 8
Active conspirators and what they stand for:
1) Reagan. 2) Rockefeller at the Trilateral Commission, 3) Casper Weinberger whose military recruits 33% AA and 41% died in Vietnam, yet AA are only 12% of USA population; 4) Godfather: USA can patrol its borders, yet cannot prevent drugs being smuggled into the country and the black community. 5) Media e.g Different Strokes, Webster, Santa Christmas that portrays only a 'white' father can be a good father for 'black' children.
Also complicit are passive conspirators: the black women and females who 'raise' their daughters and 'love' their sons. Kathy who will do anything for a man and Willie who does not feel good about himself.

Europeans make up 20% of world population, they are the minority population, yet want to control the affairs of the world. Of the 4.5 billion people alive (at the time of Kunjufu' presentation) 1 billion lived in China, 800 billion African (500 million continental, 160 million in Caribbean and South Americas, 40 million in the USA). The only way a minority can win is by controlling the mind of the majority.
Suicide levels: Euro em. Afro men, Euro women, Afro women
Lifetime: Euro women 77 years, Afro women 75 years, Euro men 66 years, Afro men 64.5 years.

1-in-3 marriages end in divorce because the socio-economic base for marriage has shifted.
In the agricultural age: extended family, in the industrial age: nuclear family, in the digital age: single adults.

eworan 8

part 9
The rumour is that "Some mothers raise their daughters and love their sons". Sons are future husbands and fathers and have to be raised that way. Teach them to cook, wash after themselves, take care of others, about the responsibilities of teenage pregnancy. Mama's Boys become Baby-fathers. They are sons that are not raised properly.

eworan 9

part 10
83% female teachers at the USA elementary grade. 'Black' children make up 17% of student population, and 24% of special needs education, of which 85% are 'black' boys! Do the 'white' female teachers understand the needs of boys in general or 'black' boys in particular?

eworan 10

part 11
Countering the conspiracy at home
1) Be aware of the what, who, why and how of the conspiracy
2) Admit that it affects your family
3) identify Afrikan male role models within or beyond the child's immediate family
4) Contract with the role model on the deliverables of the mentoring relationship
5) Develop fine motor skills in the boys: use of pencils, scissors and other precision skills. Not just trucks and footballs
6) Have a non-sexist household.
7) teach sex education before the age 12 when children start experimenting
8) monitor peer group. Invite them to your house and get to know them.
9) monitor TV/internet/ gaming
10) Listen to your child

Countering the conspiracy in schools
1) Be aware
2) More teachers or drop-in Afrikan role models in the schools
3) More glory to academic than athletic activities
4) More right-brain activities.
5) Blend scout skills with big brother role model into SIMBA (young lion). Simba is a rights-of-passage community action programme which has chapters across USA.

Blueprint for Black Power - Amos N. Wilson

Amos N. Wilson: The Blueprint for Black Power

part 1
A nation within nations
Afrikan-Americans should think and act as a nation-within-nation (NWN), with all the structures of nationhood, from libraries for its memories, to schools for its education, to shops for its trade.
Nationality is about power.

eworan 1

part 2
Planning with human consciousness helps prevent being overwhelmed by events, such that one is always reacting. Consciousness determines the nature of relationships, which determine the power structure. Stop appealing to, or analysing, or trying to transform others.
Jobs. Why assume that others will have jobs for the people. European and European-American communities no longer have jobs for people and are now warehousing them in substandard schools and in prisons. Yurugu are not creating enough jobs for their own people. Rather than trying to become qualified for jobs that do not exist, people should focus on going to schools to become business owners and job creators. To see themselves as the major sources of employment and wealth. Thinking as a NWN will make people focus.

eworan 2

part 3
People are creating jobs in music, advertising, real estate, spending habits, prison. And yet people are begging for jobs. It is because Afrikan consciousness is impaired that people are begging for jobs and are poor and are starving in the midst of great wealth, in form of land and minerals and powerful people. The wealth of a people are not, ultimately, in their land but in their mind, their spiritual consciousness. Look to Japan, a nation totally dependent as are Europe nations, on the mineral wealth of others. Only spiritual poverty can make a rich people think that they are poor. Others have used their minds and their cleverness to con people of their minds and their wealth. Consciousness is directly related to the type of life that one lives.
What else do Black Conservatives conserve other than the spiritual system that made the people poor in the first case.
Inter-generational planning: whatever you do, think of the effect on seven generations to come. The legacy of slavery is being enjoyed today by the same people who claim slavery was "back then" and suffered today by those who were dispossessed then.

eworan 3

part 4
People have not moved beyond slavery, even in the uniform clothes, food and language of communication. What passes for 'Soul food' is not the food of people but the food of slaves.
Why do African names sound so strange to ears of the people. The purpose of the people has been to work and create wealth for yurugu people. It is time to change this slave consciousness. What kind of god do you worship? Wilson says "We are possessed by spirits and demons. We have let another peoples' spirits take possession of our minds and bodies. These cause us to hate and harm ourselves. We must exorcise these demons. We have been implanted with a spirit."

eworan 4

part 5
In defending our ego, we end up protecting the structure that has destroyed our ego in the first place. Black on black violence caused by people becoming possessed by Yurugu values and so identifying themselves with Yurugu people. The Yurugu values negate Afrikan values, so the corrupted people become self-negating. One tries to destroy what one negates, and so the self-negating person seeks to destroy their own community. Wilson says "We have come to identify with those who possess us. We have come to see them as our natural selves". Self-hatred by people is the greatest defence of Yurugu people.

eworan 5

part 6
Possession makes the possessed to defend the spirit that possesses.
Many people now reflect Yurugu bodies, food, hair and personalities because they have become possessed by Yurugu spirits. Multiple personality disorder results, as does schizophrenia.

eworan 6

part 7
Personality of people nowadays has been trained to turn away from the memory of slavery. "We do not want to think about it, talk about it, do anything about it other than forget it". Wilson asks "Why is it that the people who pray the most, have their children filling the jails?"

eworan 7

part 8
Education, as well as religion and psychosomatic drugs such as Prozac, physically changes the way the brain functions. They change the psyche and the body. They change the nature of the culture that we live in. Culture, like History and music, cannot exist outside the mind and the body. Often, culture is a way of thinking, or a conspiracy, a means by which a group of people organise to control themselves and the world, a means of organising themselves so that they can gain benefits greater than can be attained by one person. It is an instrument of power. Music is a means of implanting a possessing spirit in our bodies by that culture.

eworan 8

part 9
Why is it everything people do, as they protest for freedom and independence, end up enriching the Yurugu? Because the spirit that is implanted responds only to its creator.
The Yurugu culture implants itself through vehicles such as music, film and poetry that involve people thinking or moving in rhythm with each other, and through symbols and language. One of the best ways in which cultural values are implanted is through entertainment. Wilson says "Their content of our self-destructiveness is carried in our music and poetry".
Personality is a function of society. Each individual personality is in-cultured to serve the needs of society. Who is creating the culture of your personality?

eworan 9

part 10
All culture is dynamic. Do not look to 13th century African culture and try to adapt it to 21st century life. What makes a culture African is that it looks to the interests of Afrikan people.
Can we organise our skills, knowledge and though styles, content to achieve our values? If values, consciousness, personality are types of power, it is possible that others take our power and use them against us.

eworan 10

part 11
Be Afrikan centred, otherwise we suffer first ethno-cide then genocide. We must develop an African history, values, sense of nationhood. Wilson says "we are a de-facto nation that is afraid to be it". We permit our resources - human and material - to be exported and used by others. Just like the countries in African continent, the Afrikan NWN is indebted to Yurugu organisations. With its installment plans, it becomes too impoverished to build communications, medical, educational or any other infrastructure. Like the African countries, the African NWN is a mono-product economy. It sells only its labour. This labour is sold into a buyers market. There is soon to be no more demand for this labour.

eworan 11

part 12
We have no obligation to feed the children of other people before we feed our own. The China market is worth USD400billion. The Afrikan NWN is worth USD500billion. You must contribute to our community institutions otherwise we will not let you operate. There is no free market. No matter the resources, you must have a consciousness that transverses a communications network to reach into all your endeavours.

African Trading Company

A proposal is made to gather USD50 per month for 24 months per 100,000 Africans living in the USA, and using the funds to start an investment group.

An interesting comment:

I will also suggest that it be structured not as an investment group or bank or other fiduciary institution, but as a trading company along the lines of the Sogo of Japan or Chaebol of Korea or even conglomerates of USA. This organisational strategy can help avoids some trade barriers such as undue or excessive regulation. It requires commitment to world standards in financial and logistics management. The mindset must be gradual domination of processing, marketing and distribution in a core set of technologies and in the associated products. Actual production should be co-ordinated with domestic suppliers and research in collaboration with domestic universities and colleges across Africa.

By sponsoring an apprenticeship system, it can ensue a steady stream of innovative human capital with hands-on knowledge come through the education system. Some will stay with the company. Others will set up on their own and may well become suppliers or marketers for the trading company. If and when it ventures abroad outside the African nation, it should ensure Africans are posted to manage the overseas business unit so that we can learn the intricacies of international trade. Within Africa, at least 10% of net revenues in each business unit should be provisioned for development of local community infrastructure or social services.

There are a number of commodities and associated technologies we can focus on:
1. Foods and beverages, waste management combined with electricity production, internet infrastructure, and education (see above) to secure the home front;
2. Essential minerals such as gold, crude oil, tantalum, iron ore, and so on to secure a sustainable foot-hold in international markets.

As it consolidates its presence in key product lines, governments and multinationals in many African and foreign countries may come to fear it and will then act to undermine it. For this reason, it may be better to focus initially on building/defending the African marketplace. The only sure way of doing this is to make Africans wealthy by encouraging a scheme of equity ownership. If you are concerned that some 'shareholders' will pervert your ideal of local enrichment, then start the trading company as a membership society, with members sharing net revenues in proportion to their trading activity.

This is the business model for my own company. It is early days for us, so I am glad to share it with you. I wish you well, yet, bear in mind: Africa's solutions are problems for the 'international community'.

Getting Vista to work with Samba

Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols Dec. 15, 2006 Linux-Watch

I was tinkering with my Vista system the other day, when I found it wouldn't connect with a pair of NAS (Network Attached Storage) drives. I was not a happy camper.

The drives, a pair of Seagate 400GB USB2.0 External Hard Drives, were connected to my Fast Ethernet network by a Linksys NSLU2, aka Slug, network storage link. All my other systems, which include XP Pro, MEPIS 6.01, Fedora 6, openSUSE 10.2, and SLED (SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop) 10, had no trouble at all accessing these drives, so what was the problem?

After staring for much too long at network traffic logs, it suddenly hit me, I've seen a variation of this problem years ago. Vista defaults to using the NTLMv2 authentication. NTLMv2 is a 128-bit encrypted authentication protocol that has been around for over a decade. It was first introduced back in NT4 SP4.

Back in those days of stone-axes and bear-skins, I'd run into trouble with Windows 95 clients being unable to connect with "secured" NT4 SP4 servers. I fixed it then by setting the servers back to using NTLM.

Today, my problem was that by default Vista only used NTLMv2, and not NTLM or LM authentication. My NAS setup, like many NAS appliances, relies on a firmware-based Linux and Samba for its CIFS (Common Internet File System) file server.

The NSLU2 uses Samba 2.x, and that version doesn't speak NTLMv2. That's not too surprising. While NTLMv2 has been around for ages, almost no one, until now, has deployed it as a client operating system default protocol. Consequently, in addition to the NSLU2, you can expect many other such Linux/Samba-based devices, like the Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 100d/160GB, the D-Link DSM-G600, and the Buffalo HD-H1.0TGL/R5-1 Terastation 1.0 Terabyte NAS, to not work with Vista.

It doesn't help any in working with NTLM2 that Microsoft has changed how it worked over time and its documentation is, to be kind, awful. For more on how NTLM2 actually works, see The Most Misunderstood Windows Security Setting of All Time. This is must reading for any network administrator who will be dealing with Vista.

Fortunately, there are two ways to fix this problem. The first is just to force Vista to use the NTLM protocol as well as NTLM2. To do that, use these commands:

Click "Start -> Run." Then, type in the Run field: "secpol.msc." That will bring you to Vista's security policy system. Once there, use "Go to: Local Policies > Security Options" and then find "Network Security: LAN Manager" authentication level. Once there, change the Setting from "Send NTLMv2 response only" to "Send LM & NTLM -- use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated."

Ta-da! My Vista workstation could use my Seagate drives.

The better long-term solution is to upgrade any of your Samba servers to 3.0.22 or higher, since they can handle NTLMv2. 3.0.21 will also do the trick, but it has a security hole in it, so if you're still using it, upgrade as soon as possible. The most recent stable version of Samba is 3.0.23d, and I highly recommend it.

I'd already done that with my SLES (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) servers, so that's why I didn't immediately consider a Samba authentication problem when I first had trouble with the Vista box.

Unfortunately, upgrading the NSLU2, like any network appliance, isn't so easy. Upgrading almost any appliance requires you to change the firmware. However, in the case of the NSLU2, its most recent firmware dates from July, 2005 and it doesn't do the job.

So, what I did instead was head over to the NSLU2 Linux site. Once there, I installed an alternative firmware, Unslung. With that up and working -- they're not kidding, by the way, about following all the instructions -- I then used OptWare, a software package system for Unslung, to install an up-to-date version of Samba.

If that sounds complicated, well, yes, it is. I recommend only users who are very comfortable with getting their hands dirty with deep, down technology give it a try. For the rest of you, and there will be many of you soon, who want to get Vista and your network appliances on the same page, I recommend changing Vista's settings as described above, for now, and bugging your device vendors for upgraded firmware for the long-run.

Virtualisation with Ubuntu Server

How to Develop Virtual Appliances Using Ubuntu JeOS

Must look at using virtualisation to get soft-appliances in widespread use across Afrika. The technology promises to lower the cost of building hardware data-centres.
Would this work on Debian, or does it require have proprietary Ubuntu dependencies?

The African Executive

Comments made to the African Executive do not appear on the site, so I have decided to keep a log here.

Kenya Must Expand Her Middle Class by Samuel Imende, in The African Executive
If by 'middle class', Imende means business owner-manages and the professional trades, then it is the middle class that must expand itself by creating and building wealth opportunities that can be supported, because benefits and risks are shared, by the governing and by the greater community.

Because wealth does not trickle down unless public governance imposes limits on private markets. Thomas Friedman was wrong. His work at the University of Chicago continues to misinform and misdirect efforts at socio-economic development into mastering global markets rather than the intended ensuring sufficient standards and security of lives and livelihoods. If you think Kenya is bad, wait to see what is coming to the USA: there the top 1% now hold 53% of the stock market wealth (de-facto: of USA's globalisation assets), up from 33% in 1980 when Reagan took the Friedman machete to the USA New Deal.

Food Security: New Technologies Will Save AFrica

Pete Veal is the former MD Syngenta East Africa Limited. He is currently Head of Strategy and Planning for Europe, Africa and Middle-East based in Basel, Switzerland. Syngenta is an "agribusiness" that employs over 21,000 people in some 90 countries worldwide, including many in Africa, South America and Asia.

It is convenient then for Syngenta that
factors are suddenly pushing up the price of basic food items.
or that
food aid entering the local market not only destroys the value of local produce, but also the livelihoods of local farmers, removing their incentive to product.
. He recommends more Green Revolution technology. But that is not likely to benefit African communities who need to guarantee food security.

What Africa needs for food security are local food stocks, guaranteed minimum prices so that farmers can afford a living wage, and more efficient distribution systems. Get rid of food technology multinationals who insist on selling genetically modified 'terminator' seeds that can only grow with massive and continuous doses of their fertilizers, pesticides, technical aid, debt bondage, and corrupting of government.
It is better to cook than to buy a microwave. African countries should stop starving for foreign currency while selling crops to 'global-gambling' markets controlled by export-marketing businesses of these scented multinationals. You already know the small farmers' families of USA's MidWest or India's Pradesh what benefits they got from the latest 'Green Revolution'. Farmer suicides and bankruptcies are up at historical levels. Their children have abandoned poisoned farms and migrated to the cities or abroad.

When Sheep Call Rabid Dogs To Tend The Flock

He who the gods first make mad...
I am just about to finish reading "tHE SHOCK DOCTRINE" by Naomi Klein. Which highlights that for some 205 or so years from 1893 to now, the USA (and Europe) have expanded their markets by progressively 'shocking' domestic consumers or foreign countries. First by economic shock of destabilising the socio-econimy through free markets that loosens capital controls and democracy that ensures only compliant elites get to rule. If the markets are reluctant, then the shock of war as bombs rain down terror to free the markets. For those who further resist want to keep their land to themselves by all means or just to set an example, there is the body shock of torture and disappeared 'terrorists' .

For years now, we have been raising alarm that Africa is in a war of attrition. All the things that other people do by themselves, our people call on foreigners to come and do for them. Still we have people calling for foreign investment, foreign technical support, foreign aid, foreign tourists, etc. Perhaps they did not notice that all these foreign entities rarely travel without 'escorts' and 'field operatives'. They rarely lend without interest, never give without a trade agreement secured by collateral.

Let me guess why the 'eagle is now landing' while the 'vultures gather around'.
Privatisation and deregulation programmes in Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Angola and South Africa are about to reach a higher level. Now that all the small-small governmert assets have been sold at gbanjo prices, it is the turn of the core assets: NEPA/SONANGOL may be sold to GE, NNPC may be sold to the anglo-american energy companies, and the water, telco and utilities companies may be sold to the other european multinationals. The Broederbond Afrikaners retain 80% control of SA economy and 70% of the land, as they do in Zimbabwe. Our people are fed up with squalor and suffering and dying for nothing. Previous governments have softened us up economically by allowing combination of acute fuel price hikes, inflation, unconstrained capital flight, and total-importation-among-total-unemployment to cripple local productivity. They have set examples of willingness to military violence and police brutality. Meanwhile, nothing is done to prevent people sliding off the dead-end of fundamentalist religions that call on the hopeless to beg from those who damn them the most.

When local people got too tired of the lawlessness and formed vigilante groups, some people called on the same disingenuous governments (whose complicity, incompetence or insincerity caused these crises in the first case) to deal with the 'terrorists' (academics, cultists and tribalists). The turkeys voted for christmas and youth leaders 'disappeared', were dealt with, or somehow died. Now the sheep are calling for the rabid dogs to come and tend the flock. The actors in the former mis-governments are now on the other side and are working with the multinationals and multilateral agencies of countries that open our markets while they close their borders. They want to get paid from privatising the assets that so many people gave up so much to accumulate. They expect peoples' resistance to boil over. So they have asked for (foreign) military support, to reinforce their raping and killing of us. Now, while they move the seats of government onto fortified mini-cities it is the time for you to go prepare your village, and learn the ways of the blacksmith and the bush. t is not accidental that travel into the cities and foreign countries is so problematic. Nigeria, like Iraq, may now finally unite and for all the same reasons.

Yoruba Orisha Spirituality as Egyptian Ancient Mystery Religion

Found this "History of the Yoruba 1" at a Black History section of a website that may not keep it for long, so I have stored here while I research it.

The probable site of Atlantis, a legendary site in the Atlantic Ocean were exact location of Ile-Ife, a powerful kingdom 9000 years before the birth of BOLON. Its powerful army over run the Mediterranean land. The people of Atlantis are the founder of the ancient civilization of Atlantis from which the Atlantic ocean derived its name; Yorubas called it "Okun" with "Olokun" as the Orisa that presided over that aspect of Nature. It is the teaching of occultists that the first race of Atlanteans was called Rmoahals.

The race was Mahogany Black in color about 10ft. to 12 ft.

"Ile- Ife ase n taye nibi ojumo ti n mo wa" (Ile-Ife the primordial place where the day light comes forth) is the original home of the Yorubas, civilization and culture. Did you know that Ife (Yoruba) gave the world the civilization as we know it today? For instance, "Britons received their civilization from Rome: Rome from Greece: Greece from Persia: Persia from Ghaldea: Ghaldea from Babylon: Babylonians and Hebrews from Egypt: Egypt from the Tyrrhenians and the Tyrrhenians from the ancient Ile-Ife.

Yorubas refered to themselves as "Eniyan" or Eni ti Aayan" (the Chosen Ones to bring blessing to the world). "Ifa ni dandan, eniyan ni a yan lati mu ire wa si aye."

Lamurudu or Nemrod was never mentioned in any of the Odu Ifa therefore he could not be any of the Yorubas' ancestors. Yorubas are known for paying close attention to their ancestors.

Decoding the History of Yoruba within the meanings of language and the symbols

One of the things that is very consistent in the History of Yoruba people and family nations has been that King Lamurudu was a powerful hunter who had several children and one of them, Odua or Oduduwa the last child, became the founding ancestor of the Yoruba people and family nations.

Our prehistory is based on oral traditions and, like all oral stories, subject to change by omission and commission -- after some thousands years of told and retold. When groups and family nations have found their niche and security within the land, independent of one another, different stories about groups' origins become more fashionable.

And the advent of colonialists did not help our history. It was like the 'sermon on the mount' -- "Give ye not that which is sacred to the dog, neither cast your pearl before the swine, for the swine would trample them under their feet and the dog would turn and rend you." For some thousands of years we have given our history to alien powers; as we use their expertise and their language to interpret and write about who we were and are.

The situation was made more complicated as colonialists (another alien powers) moved in and assigned different alphabets to the spoken words of similar groups within group.

For example: Some groups were assigned the letter C, some got Z and another got S -- for similar sounds. In one similar sound, some groups were assigned Ch, or Sh, or, even S. Some group received the K and others received the Q for similar sound, and so on and so on. Each group accepted its alien alphabets without reexamination and change. Furthermore, isolation of groups from each other led to different pronunciations of words and their uses took new, but related, meanings.

Please allow me to digress a moment. I went to see a Ghanian colleague in Richardson by Dallas in Texas. He and I went out for a couple of hours and, upon return, his wife welcomed us back home with the word that sounded like Yoruba "eku aabo,"which means "welcome" in Yoruba. But I was wrong. She was speaking her Ghana language when she said "akwaaba," which means "welcome." Another group in Ghana spells the same word "aquaaba."Our languages and symbols, highly codified by our ancestors in order to promote survival, could be very useful in determining our true history.

We must look at prehistory and other available references from ancient times related to oral prehistory and our cultural symbols to correct the mistakes in written history.

Last year I wrote: "The Yoruba language is excellent in what is called "euphony." Euphony is a method by which one makes a phonetic change to make a word or phrase more pleasant to hear or pronounce. For example, in Yoruba, "li" or "ni" can interchange. Some Yoruba ethnic can say "ni ana" or "li ana" which means "as of yesterday." "Ni oni" or "li oni" which means "as of today." For the sake of euphony, both phrases become "lana" and "loni" respectively. Now, let us apply the same to Nimrod, Nam'Ur-ud and the father of O'dua -- Lamurudu.

First, take out all vowels in each name. Nimrod will become NMRD, Nam'Ur-ud will become NMRD. For the sake of euphony, replace the "L" in Lamurudu with N and you have NMRD. Lamurudu was the beginning of ena; the inversion or change of letters, words, syllables or sentences in order that the sense is disguised. Lamurudu is thus concealed.

It has now become an instinctual response for the Yoruba to trigger the "u" sense upon contact with Arabic names, which have their root in Aramaic, the language of the Canaanites. Ask yourself this question: How did the Greek come to have the "Staff of Orion" and the Yoruba also have the "Opa Oranyan?" Orion and Oranyan are the same but utter confusion.

But our elders would exaggerate some words. Oranyan (Orion) became Oranmiyan -- the same utter confusion. The Greek and the Hebrew borrowed a lot from their Canaanite masters from prehistory. The art of writing came from the Canaanites. The Hebrew, the Arabic and the Greek borrowed from the Canaanite. Some older dictionaries would let you know that.

But modern dictionaries have begun to omit the Canaanite as first in writing. And that is purposeful. For example, the letter "O" is used by the Canaanite to mean "end or completion." It is "omega" in Greek which means "end." The word "dua" is Aramaic/Arabic for "prayer" or "supplicate before God." In Arabic "Ya" is "O." Therefore if you named your child "Ya'dua" and I named my child "O'dua," we are both thanking God for answering our prayers for giving us the child we want.

The name is usually given to the expected last born son. In modern Yoruba, a'dua has acquired the letter "r" to become "adura. "Following the deluge, after a few thousand years with the kingdom under water and under deserts, other people, including the Hebrew, invaded with confidence to take over the land gradually because the great king was gone. The Canaanites scattered under different names to hide because of persecution, genocide, splinter groups and within group fighting. One group became Yoruba, which was 'Yerubbaal' -- the 'People of Baal'. Baal was a monotheistic God.

With new names for the one and only God, the word 'Baal' was absorbed from the Canaanite into Hebrew to mean 'lord or master of the house' and it is the same as 'baale' in Yoruba. The people further changed the identity of Baal to Shango.

Please make the effort to go to a good museum where you can find the drawing of the Canaanite God Baal and compare it with any statue of Shango. And for that matter, we should compare the sculptures and arts of the Canaanites (Phoenicians) with that of the Yoruba, Benin, Asante and others for similarities. And we should not allow any stolen history found in the Old Testament cause us to shy away from our prehistory. The Canaanite word "ilu" gave us Olu, Eli and Ala. The same people gave us "ob" from which Obd, Abd and Oba came. For example in the Bible, we have OBADIAH which is "servant of God." It is oxymoron when our Yoruba ministers call God "Olorun-oba." the Owner of the Heaven cannot also be called the servant. Olorun by itself is a great attribute for God. Oba in prehistory was the servant of the people appointed by the King to administer his territories -- conquered or acquired. At that time, Obas were like Governor Generals under the British rule in our present day. They were not meant to equal the status of the king.

In the same line of conversation, the deity "Obatala" in Yoruba was the 'servant of God' and God is 'Ala Ta Ala' in Islam. The time is now for our linguists, lexicologists, educators and simply ordinary persons to help update the Yoruba Dictionary to include the roots and origins of words. Our alphabets, developed by a European anthropologist, only put us further away from our origin, especially those letters that carry a dot along with them.

Take for an example, the letter 'O' as in 'imo' and 'ino'. Both words mean 'light'. But in Aramaic and Arabic, the words 'light' will be 'ur' and 'nur'. Let us declare our own Age of Enlightenment with the new millennium.

PS: The myth was that the Opa Oranyan was the walking cane of Oranyan. No. From the vantage view of our ancestors, it was the structure of the Staff of Oranyan (Orion) in the Orion Nebulae. Opa Oranyan (Orion) contains messages that must be deciphered by you, you, you and me.

Do you know that King Nam'Ur-ud (the Light that Shines, hence Orion) was degraded by the writers of the Old Testament with the name Nimrod which has no meaning? It was like deliberately saying your name wrongly to put you down. You are told in the Bible that Nimrod (King Nam'Ur-ud -- codified LAMURUDU by our ancestors) was the greatest king-hunter, built the Tower of Babel, and the meanest human.

Do you know he vanished about 9,000 years ago and our ancestors erected a colossus statue with his face on the body of lion the king and the hunter to represent him on earth until his return?

Do you know the Sphinx was a tribute to the great King and not Pharaohs? This is the statue's ninth millennia. Don't let the "experts" mislead you.

Do you know that he word "Yoruba" is a spiritual name? Do you know that some Yoruba member-nations took political names of the Canaanite groups -- Edomites, Jebusites and so on?

Do you know you MUST develop your Third Eye in order to come into the Past, which is more tedious than entering Present and the Future? This is beyond your general science validity.

May the Spirits of our Ancestors continue to bestow upon you great favors. Ashe o.

Wish you peace and alafia

Olódùmarè, jè ka morí de ilé, àṣẹ.

Introduction
The philosophy of Yòrúbo is that all humans have Ayanmo (manifest destiny) to become one in spirit with Olódùmarè (Olòrún, the divine creator and source of all energy). Each person in Ayé (the physical realm) uses thought or action energies to impact the community of all other living things including the Earth, and so to move towards destiny. As such, one's destiny is in one's hands. To attain transcedence and destiny in Òrún-Réré (spiritual realm of those who do good and beneficial things), one's Orí-Inu (spiritual consciousness in the physical realm) must be elevated to unify with one's Iponri (Orí Òrún). Those who stop improving are destined for Òrún-Apadi (spiritual realm of the forsaken). Life and death are cycles of habitation in physical body and spiritual realms while one's spirit evolves toward transcendence. This evolution is most advanced in Irùnmolẹ (oní irun, of the unique hair that distincts humans from beasts; imo, enlightened of destiny, ilẹ on the land)
For most people, iwapẹlẹ (balanced culture), meditation and sincere veneration sufficiently strengthen one's Orí-Inu. One is able to gbadúra (pray) for support of the Egungun (one's elevated ancestors) or the Orí-Òrún for application of the Odu (knowledge of all ages) to one's benefit. Those with strong motivation to manipulate destiny may consult the Odu through Ifá (divination sciences) and ẹbò (offering). In invoking the Odu so directly, care is required to ensure alignment of thought and action. The Odu brings into motion either Oríṣà (benevolent or angelic forces) or Ajẹ (malevolent or demonic forces). All communication with the Òrún is energised by invoking Àṣẹ (the essence of Olódùmarè that gives life to all). Àṣẹ is delivered by Ẹlégbara (Eṣu, the divine messenger) who, without distortion or partiality for good or for bad, negotiates communication to the Òrún and navigates Òrún forces to the Ayé.

Ọbàtálá functions as the principal emissary of Olódùmarè on Aye, and is the custodian of Yoruba culture. The aso ala (white cloth) worn by Ọbàtálá initiates is to signify need to be pure in intent and action: A recurring punishment for social misfits was to try to keep white cloth clean in Africa's tropical and dusty climate. The misappropriation of aso-ala connection to Ọbàtálá was/is a major weapon against the Yoruba in their psychological resistance of foreign invasion, as Christian and Islamic converts were/are indoctrinated that anything considered 'white' is pure: a notion that has also become a key tenet of racialist supremacy
